Conan O'Brien's sketch about what it means to be really Irish featured a horror of Irish stereotypes

We thought you were cool, Conan.

TO MARK ST. PATRICK’S Day, Conan O’Brien aired a sketch last night about what it means to be really Irish.

And in keeping with most St. Patty’s Day content, it was horribly cringey and wildly unfunny.

The sketch started with a “character” named Drinkin’ Dancin’ Danny Doyle taking to the stage to perform an Irish jig.

Bad leprechaun gag? Check. Dreadful trad music? You betcha.

Before an Irish man in the audience (read: not Irish and putting on a poor Irish accent) expressed his disdain for what was taking place on stage.

This Irish man (once again, not remotely Irish) decided to take it upon himself to teach Conan O’Brien what “real Irish” is.

Cue a whole mess of stereotypes.

Real Irish is getting into a bar fight with a girl and when she beats you, you ask her to marry you.

Because we love drinking and fighting, you see. Almost as much as we love eating potatoes and finding pots of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Then came the product placement…

YOU MEAN TO SAY THIS WHOLE THING IS A PAID PLACEMENT FOR WHISKEY?

*wrecks the gaff*

Before concluding with the “Irish” gentleman throwing shapes to some Dropkick Murphys-esque music.

Oof.

Between this and Mike Pence claiming to be one of us.

It’s a hard week to be Irish.
